Wipro shares rose around 2 percent in early trading after the IT services company announced its second quarter results for FY27. The stock gained as investors assessed the company’s revenue performance and outlook following the earnings announcement.
Nomura maintained its Buy rating on Wipro and retained a target price of Rs 200 per share. Based on the prevailing market price, the target indicates an upside potential of around 15 percent.
The brokerage highlighted better than expected revenue performance as a key positive from the quarter. Wipro’s revenue outcome was ahead of Nomura’s expectations, while the company’s guidance remained broadly in line with expectations.
Another factor supporting the brokerage’s positive view is the potential for margin recovery. Nomura expects operating margins to improve, which could provide support to earnings growth if the recovery in profitability progresses as anticipated.
However, weaker deal bookings remain a key concern. Lower bookings could affect the pace of future revenue growth and remain an important factor for investors to monitor in the coming quarters.
Despite the mixed signals from the quarter, Nomura believes the company’s revenue performance, guidance and potential margin improvement provide sufficient support for its positive stance on the stock.
The market reaction remained positive, with Wipro shares gaining around 2 percent following the Q2 FY27 results as investors weighed the potential for improved profitability against the weaker deal booking environment.
