Shares of Waaree Renewable Technologies rallied sharply in Friday’s session, gaining nearly 12% intraday after the company reported a strong set of fourth-quarter numbers alongside commentary indicating sustained demand momentum in the solar segment. The stock traded at ₹1,185.65 in morning deals, placing it among the top gainers on the bourses.
The earnings performance reflects a broader structural trend playing out in India’s renewable energy ecosystem, where execution-led companies are beginning to translate order inflows into revenue acceleration. According to company disclosures, revenue from operations for Q4FY26 rose 131.31% year-on-year to ₹1,102.40 crore, compared with ₹476.58 crore in the corresponding period last year. The sharp jump suggests improved project execution and possibly faster conversion of order book into billable milestones.
Profitability, however, expanded at a relatively moderated pace. EBITDA increased 63.71% to ₹206.82 crore, while net profit rose 66.08% to ₹155.72 crore. The divergence between revenue growth and profit growth indicates potential margin pressures—likely stemming from input costs, competitive bidding intensity, or project mix. While absolute earnings remain strong, the trend suggests that scaling in EPC-led renewable businesses continues to come with margin trade-offs.
A key positive for investors lies in forward visibility. The company reported an unexecuted order book of 2.83 GWp, expected to be executed over the next 12–15 months. This provides near-term revenue certainty and reduces dependence on fresh order inflows for growth continuity. Additionally, the bidding pipeline has expanded significantly to over 36 GWp, indicating a strong opportunity funnel and positioning the company to capture incremental market share.
Management commentary reinforces the structural tailwinds. CFO Manmohan Sharma highlighted that FY26 revenue more than doubled to ₹3,331.42 crore from ₹1,597.75 crore in FY25, reflecting sustained scaling of operations. More importantly, the broader sector backdrop remains supportive. India’s installed renewable energy capacity has crossed 274 GW, with solar contributing over 150 GW as of March 2026. Solar capacity additions during FY26 rose sharply to over 44 GW, compared to approximately 24 GW in the previous year, pointing to an acceleration in deployment activity.
This sectoral expansion is critical to understanding Waaree Renewable’s growth trajectory. As India pushes toward its long-term clean energy targets, EPC players and integrated renewable solution providers stand to benefit from both government-led projects and private sector capex cycles. The company’s expanding bidding pipeline suggests it is actively participating in this opportunity.
From a market perspective, the earnings reinforce investor preference for companies with strong execution capabilities and visible order books within the renewable space. The sharp stock reaction indicates that expectations were either exceeded or that the market is assigning a premium to growth visibility amid policy support for green energy.
However, the margin profile warrants closer scrutiny. While revenue has more than doubled year-on-year, EBITDA and net profit growth have lagged, implying compression at the operating level. This could be due to aggressive bidding in a competitive market or cost escalations in modules, logistics, or labor. Sustained margin pressure could limit earnings upgrades even if topline growth remains robust.
