Top Indian bluechip companies add Rs 2.05 lakh crore in market value as equities rebound

Eight of India’s top 10 most valued companies collectively added over Rs 2.05 lakh crore in market capitalisation last week, led by strong gains in Bharti Airtel and Reliance Industries. The broader market also recovered, with the Sensex and Nifty rising over 1.6 percent each.

The combined market valuation of eight of the top 10 most valued Indian companies rose by Rs 2,05,185.08 crore last week, reflecting strong momentum in large-cap stocks as markets staged a sharp recovery from recent weakness.

Benchmark indices recorded a solid rebound, with the BSE Sensex climbing 1,346.5 points (1.62 percent) and the NSE Nifty advancing 417.75 points (1.64 percent).

Bharti Airtel emerged as the top gainer in terms of market capitalisation, adding Rs 55,652.54 crore to reach Rs 11,96,700.84 crore. Reliance Industries closely followed, with its valuation rising Rs 54,941.84 crore to Rs 20,55,379.61 crore.

Among other gainers, Tata Consultancy Services saw its mcap jump by Rs 40,757.75 crore to Rs 11,23,416.17 crore, while ICICI Bank added Rs 20,834.35 crore, pushing its valuation to Rs 9,80,374.43 crore.

State Bank of India’s valuation increased by Rs 10,522.9 crore to Rs 8,92,923.79 crore, and Infosys added Rs 10,448.32 crore, taking its mcap to Rs 6,24,198.80 crore.

HDFC Bank recorded a rise of Rs 9,149.13 crore, taking its market capitalisation to Rs 15,20,524.34 crore. Hindustan Unilever also saw modest gains of Rs 2,878.25 crore, pushing its valuation to Rs 5,70,187.06 crore.

On the losing side, Bajaj Finance’s mcap declined by Rs 30,147.94 crore to Rs 6,33,573.38 crore, while Life Insurance Corporation of India witnessed a drop of Rs 9,266.12 crore to Rs 5,75,100.42 crore.

Reliance Industries maintained its position as India’s most valued company, followed by HDFC Bank, Bharti Airtel, Tata Consultancy Services, ICICI Bank, State Bank of India, Bajaj Finance, Infosys, Life Insurance Corporation of India and Hindustan Unilever.
