Bajaj Finserv has informed stock exchanges that Rajiv Bajaj, a non-executive director on its board, will retire from his position at the company's upcoming Annual General Meeting (AGM) scheduled for July 31, 2026.
According to the company's filing, Rajiv Bajaj communicated his decision to step down due to increased responsibilities at Bajaj Auto. These additional commitments stem from the establishment of new entities, namely Bajaj Auto Technology Ltd. and Bajaj Auto Credit Ltd., as well as the company's recent acquisition of KTM.
In light of these expanded responsibilities, Rajiv Bajaj has expressed a desire to reduce his other professional commitments and has therefore chosen not to seek re-election to the Bajaj Finserv board at the forthcoming AGM.
As a result, he will cease to be a director of Bajaj Finserv upon retirement by rotation at the conclusion of the AGM. The company did not indicate any governance concerns or disagreements associated with his departure, suggesting the decision is primarily driven by his focus on strategic initiatives within Bajaj Auto.
Rajiv Bajaj has been a key member of the broader Bajaj Group leadership structure, and his exit from the Bajaj Finserv board reflects a realignment of responsibilities within the group's businesses as it pursues growth opportunities across automotive technology, financing, and international operations.
