Polycab India shares rose around 2 percent on October 30 after the National Company Law Appellate Tribunal set aside insolvency proceedings initiated against the company.
The NCLAT order overturned the insolvency proceedings that had been admitted by the Ahmedabad bench of the National Company Law Tribunal on October 7, 2026. The proceedings followed a petition filed by operational creditor Asier Metals Private Ltd over an alleged outstanding debt of Rs 2.79 crore.
Asier Metals had issued a demand notice to Polycab India on August 6, 2026, seeking payment of the alleged operational debt. The dispute subsequently resulted in insolvency proceedings being admitted by the NCLT.
The NCLAT decision provides relief to Polycab India by setting aside the insolvency proceedings against the company. The development removes the immediate insolvency-related overhang that had emerged following the NCLT admission order.
The positive market reaction reflected investor relief following the appellate tribunal's decision. The company can now continue its operations without the insolvency proceedings that had been initiated over the disputed claim.
