Piramal Finance Ltd on August 31 announced the successful completion of its qualified institutions placement, raising Rs 2,100 crore through the issuance of equity shares to qualified institutional buyers. The fund raise received participation from a broad group of leading domestic and international institutional investors.

Domestic mutual funds participating in the QIP included ICICI Prudential, Nippon India, Kotak, Quant, Axis, Motilal Oswal, Tata, Franklin Templeton and Aditya Birla Sun Life. Global investors including BlackRock, Goldman Sachs Asset Management and Eastspring Investments also participated in the issue.

The strong institutional participation comes as Piramal Finance continues its transformation into a scaled, retail-led and diversified financial services franchise. The company said the capital raise reflects investor confidence in its strategy, which includes expanding its presence across Bharat, broadening its product portfolio and increasing the use of technology and artificial intelligence in customer service and risk management.

Piramal Finance chairman Anand Piramal said the company has served more than 6 million customers and enabled over 2.5 million high-impact loans across affordable housing, small businesses and underserved communities. He added that the successful capital raise places greater responsibility on the company to deliver with consistency, prudence and a focus on long-term value creation.

Separately, on August 24, 2026, the board approved a preferential issue of warrants worth around Rs 1,750 crore to a promoter group entity. The proposed issue remains subject to shareholder, statutory and regulatory approvals.

Together, the QIP and proposed preferential warrant issue represent an equity capital infusion of around Rs 3,850 crore. The transactions form part of Piramal Finance's broader capital-raising programme announced on July 16, 2026.
