Fintech company Pine Labs reported a strong financial performance for the quarter ended June 2026, with consolidated profit rising more than four-fold to Rs 19.6 crore from Rs 4.8 crore in the corresponding quarter last year. The earnings growth was driven by sustained expansion in India's digital payments ecosystem and higher demand for the company's payment infrastructure solutions.
Revenue from operations increased 19.6 percent year-on-year during the quarter, reflecting continued growth in digital payment transactions among consumers and merchants. The company attributed the performance to the increasing adoption of digital payment methods, particularly Unified Payments Interface (UPI), and the expanding use of its technology platforms by businesses and financial institutions.
The digital infrastructure and transaction platform segment, which generates revenue through subscription fees and transaction-based charges, reported nearly 15 percent growth in revenue to Rs 499 crore during the quarter.
Meanwhile, revenue from Pine Labs' issuing and acquiring platform, which enables banks and fintech companies to issue and manage credit and debit cards, increased 31 percent compared with the same period last year, indicating strong demand for embedded financial infrastructure.
Total expenses rose 10.6 percent year-on-year, primarily due to higher employee benefit costs. However, revenue growth outpaced the increase in expenses, supporting a significant improvement in profitability.
Commenting on the company's strategy, Chief Executive Officer Amrish Rau said that products such as P3P and Credit Line on UPI represent foundational infrastructure for the next phase of digital finance in India. He added that while India has built the public payment rails, Pine Labs is developing the intelligence and credit layer that enables merchants, brands, and financial institutions to build advanced financial services on top of the country's payment ecosystem.
Following the earnings announcement, Pine Labs' shares gained 3.6 percent to close at Rs 154.30 on July 28, reflecting positive investor sentiment toward the company's quarterly performance and long-term growth prospects.
