Larsen & Toubro has secured an ultra mega gas compression project worth more than Rs 15000 crore from a major client in the Middle East, according to an exchange filing.

The contract has been awarded to L&T Energy Hydrocarbon Onshore, the engineering, procurement and construction arm of the company, following a letter of award issued in FY26.

Under the project, L&T will undertake the engineering, procurement and construction of gas compression plants for new onshore installations designed to process sour gas. The facilities will include gas inlet systems, gas compression units, condensate and produced water handling systems, propane refrigeration systems and associated utilities, in line with applicable client standards, codes and project requirements.

L&T's Power Transmission and Distribution business will also execute two 230 kV extra high voltage substations to meet the power requirements of the gas compression plants.

L&T Energy Hydrocarbon Onshore provides lump sum turnkey solutions across the upstream, midstream and downstream hydrocarbon sectors. The company said the project will add significant gas compression capacity and utility infrastructure while strengthening its capabilities in executing complex hydrocarbon facilities involving sour gas applications.

The latest order follows a series of major Middle East contracts secured by L&T. Earlier, L&T Energy Offshore received an ultra mega order worth more than Rs 15000 crore from a major Middle East client for the development of multiple offshore facilities. The company has also secured an order valued at up to Rs 5000 crore to design and build an Automated People Mover system for Phase 1 of Dubai's Al Maktoum International Airport in partnership with Japan's Mitsubishi Heavy Industries.

L&T shares were trading at around Rs 4084 on the NSE, down 0.22 percent at 2:19 pm on Monday.
