KFin Technologies witnessed a large block deal on Thursday, August 20, involving 1.51 crore shares, or approximately 8.75 percent of the companys equity. The transaction was executed at ₹925 per share, taking the total deal value to around ₹1,400 crore.

General Atlantic is likely to be the seller in the transaction. However, the identities of the buyers and sellers have not been officially disclosed, and the final shareholding details are awaited.

Earlier, reports had indicated that General Atlantic was looking to sell up to an 8 percent stake in KFin Technologies through a block deal. The proposed transaction was initially estimated at around ₹1,200 crore but was subsequently increased to approximately ₹1,400 crore.

The reported floor price for the transaction was ₹919.56 per share, representing a discount of about 3 percent to KFin Technologies closing price of ₹948 on Wednesday. The actual block transaction took place at ₹925 per share, implying a discount of approximately 2.4 percent to the previous close.

The 8.75 percent stake transferred in the block deal is higher than the up to 8 percent stake that General Atlantic was earlier reported to be planning to sell.

General Atlantic held approximately 21.9 percent in KFin Technologies at the end of the June quarter. If the entire 8.75 percent stake involved in the transaction was sold by General Atlantic, its holding would decline to approximately 13.2 percent. This remains subject to confirmation following disclosure of the final transaction details and counterparties.

KFin Technologies shares closed 1 percent lower at ₹948 on Wednesday. The stock has declined approximately 12 percent so far in 2026, compared with a 7.9 percent decline in the Nifty 50 during the same period. The company had a market capitalisation of approximately ₹16,386 crore as of Wednesday's close.
