Shares of InterGlobe Aviation, the operator of IndiGo, gained nearly 2% after several brokerages expressed optimism about the airline's long-term growth strategy and expansion plans through FY30.

Brokerages highlighted IndiGo's ambitious roadmap, which targets carrying 200 million passengers annually by FY30, a substantial increase from current levels. The airline also plans to expand its fleet to more than 550 aircraft and operate nearly 3,000 daily departures, reinforcing its position as India's largest airline.

A key component of the growth strategy is the expansion of international operations. IndiGo aims to increase international capacity to 40% of its total available capacity by FY30, compared with a significantly lower share at present. The company has been actively adding new international destinations and deploying larger aircraft to strengthen its global network.

Analysts believe IndiGo's strong market position, extensive domestic network, operational scale, and growing international presence provide a solid foundation for sustained growth over the next several years. The airline is expected to benefit from rising air travel demand in India, increasing disposable incomes, and continued expansion of airport infrastructure.

However, brokerages also noted near-term challenges, including supply chain disruptions affecting aircraft deliveries, engine-related issues impacting fleet availability, and volatility in aviation fuel prices. These factors could weigh on profitability and operational efficiency in the short term.

Despite these headwinds, analysts remain constructive on the company's long-term outlook, citing its disciplined execution, market leadership, and ability to capitalize on India's rapidly growing aviation sector. The positive brokerage commentary helped support investor sentiment, leading to gains in the stock during trading.

After two consecutive years of above-normal rainfall, India faces a significantly weaker 2026 southwest monsoon, with meteorological agencies forecasting rainfall at around 90% of the Long Period Average amid rising El Niño risks. A deficient monsoon could weigh on agricultural output, rural incomes, food inflation, and overall economic growth, while creating sector-specific winners and losers across the equity market.
