HDFC Bank Appoints V N Srivatsan as Chief Compliance Officer
HDFC Bank has appointed V N Srivatsan as its new Chief Compliance Officer for a three year term effective from his date of joining on January 4 2027. Srivatsan, currently Head of Compliance for Overseas Banking and Subsidiaries and Data Privacy Officer at ICICI Bank, brings around 34 years of professional experience including extensive experience in banking compliance and regulatory matters.

HDFC Bank has appointed V N Srivatsan as its new Chief Compliance Officer for a three year term, effective from the date he joins the bank. Srivatsan is expected to join HDFC Bank on January 4 2027 and will serve as a full time employee.
Srivatsan currently serves as Head of Compliance for Overseas Banking and Subsidiaries and Data Privacy Officer at ICICI Bank. He has approximately 34 years of overall professional experience, including around 25 years in the banking financial services and insurance sector and nearly 10 years of direct experience in compliance and regulatory inspection.
During his career, Srivatsan has also led Retail Banking Compliance and Regulatory Inspection for more than eight years. His responsibilities have included overseeing regulatory compliance, managing regulatory inspections, developing and implementing compliance frameworks and policies, and coordinating with senior management, the Audit Committee, the Board and regulators.
Srivatsan holds a postgraduate degree in Business Administration from PSG College of Technology and a Bachelor of Technology degree from Sri Venkateshwara University.
The appointment follows the conclusion of Rakesh Kumar Rajput’s tenure as HDFC Bank’s Chief Compliance Officer. Rajput, who had served as the bank’s CCO since October 1 2023, ceased to hold the position at the close of business hours on September 30 2026.
Rajput will continue as a full time employee of HDFC Bank. He holds a B.Sc. Honours degree, is a Certified Associate of the Indian Institute of Bankers and has an Advanced Diploma in Business Management.
The appointment of a new Chief Compliance Officer marks a change in the leadership of HDFC Bank’s compliance function, which is responsible for overseeing regulatory compliance and supporting the bank’s compliance framework and engagement with regulators.
