Shares of Apollo Tyres and Foseco India traded higher on August 27 after large block transactions worth more than Rs 1600 crore were executed during the morning session.

In Apollo Tyres, around 2.14 crore shares, representing approximately 3.37 percent of the companys equity, changed hands through the NSE block deal window. The transaction was valued at around Rs 930 crore and was executed at Rs 435 per share, representing a discount of about 1.8 percent to the previous closing price.

Apollo Tyres shares were trading at Rs 445.70 in morning deals, up 0.6 percent. The stock has declined around 9.9 percent so far in 2026, underperforming the Nifty 50, which has fallen 7.4 percent over the same period. At the prevailing market price, Apollo Tyres has a market capitalisation of approximately Rs 28300 crore.

Foseco India also witnessed a significant block transaction, with around 11.51 lakh shares changing hands in a deal valued at Rs 679 crore. The shares were transacted at Rs 5897 apiece, representing a discount of nearly 3 percent to the previous closing price.

The transaction comes a day after reports indicated that Morganite Crucible and Morgan Terrassen BV were likely to sell a combined 15.27 percent stake in Foseco India for up to Rs 664.4 crore. The reported floor price for the proposed stake sale was Rs 5773.63 per share, representing a discount of up to 5 percent to the prevailing market price at the time.

The proposed transaction was structured as a secondary sale involving shares held by Morganite Crucible and Morgan Terrassen BV. As a result, proceeds from the stake sale would accrue to the selling shareholders rather than Foseco India.

The identities of the buyers and sellers involved in the August 27 block transaction were not immediately available. The 11.51 lakh shares traded at Rs 5897 were sold above the previously reported floor price, while the transaction value of Rs 679 crore was also higher than the maximum offer size of Rs 664.4 crore indicated in the earlier report.

Foseco India shares were trading at Rs 6168 in morning trade, up 1.5 percent. The stock has gained around 23.5 percent so far in 2026, significantly outperforming the Nifty 50. At the current market price, the company has a market capitalisation of approximately Rs 4646 crore.
