SEBI to form working group to review short selling and stock lending frameworks
Market regulator SEBI will soon establish a working group to review the frameworks for short selling and the Stock Lending and Borrowing Mechanism (SLBM), aiming to deepen India’s cash market segment. The move comes as the current rules, introduced in 2007 and 2008 respectively, have seen limited evolution and participation compared to global markets.
