Premier Energies Sees Strong Order Book Growth, Projects India’s Solar Capacity to Hit 60 GW
Premier Energies boosts order book in Q2; Vinay Rustagi sees India’s solar market expanding to 60 GW amid Made-in-India policy push.
Premier Energies has reported robust growth in its order book for the second quarter of FY26, with multiple large-scale contracts already signed. Vinay Rustagi, CEO of Premier Energies, confirmed that the company is seeing steady demand and increasing policy support for domestic solar manufacturing in India.
Rustagi acknowledged a temporary margin dip this quarter, attributing it to an accounting adjustment linked to fluctuations in raw material prices. However, he emphasized that the company’s fundamentals remain strong and the long-term outlook positive.
He highlighted that the current Indian solar market stands at approximately 40 GW and is expected to grow rapidly to 60 GW over the next few years, supported by government initiatives and a shift toward locally manufactured components.
“The policy framework is clearly moving in favor of Made-in-India materials,” Rustagi said, citing production-linked incentives (PLIs) and import restrictions that shield the domestic market from Chinese solar module imports. This insulation from global price volatility, particularly from the Chinese market, adds to India's strategic advantage, he added.
As India advances toward its renewable energy goals, Premier Energies appears well-positioned to capture a sizable share of the solar value chain, particularly in modules, wafers, and integrated production.
