Aptus Value Housing Finance Jumps 4 Percent After Rs 2005 Crore Block Deal as WestBridge Capital Cuts Stake

Aptus Value Housing Finance stock surged 4 percent to Rs 345 after a Rs 2005 crore block deal involving 6.09 crore shares. WestBridge Capital reduced its stake, while Q1FY26 results showed 28 percent profit growth despite rising NPAs.

Aptus Value Housing Finance shares rallied 4 percent to Rs 345 on September 4, 2025, after a massive block deal worth Rs 2005.94 crore hit the markets. According to exchange data, 6.09 crore shares, representing 12.2 percent of the company’s equity, changed hands in a special block deal window.

WestBridge Capital Offloads Major Stake

As per sources cited by CNBC-TV18, private equity investor WestBridge Capital executed the trade, offloading 8.23 crore shares or 16.46 percent stake in Aptus Value Housing Finance through a clean-out block deal estimated at around Rs 2600 crore. The shares were offered at a floor price of Rs 316 per share.
WestBridge Crossover Fund LLC had held a 16.03 percent stake in the company as of June 2025. The PE firm has been trimming its position steadily, having sold 12.61 percent in June and 4.96 percent in May 2021.

Strong Q1FY26 Performance

Despite the stake sale, Aptus Value Housing Finance has shown robust operational growth. The company posted a 28 percent YoY increase in net profit, reaching Rs 219.25 crore for the June 2025 quarter (Q1FY26), compared to Rs 172 crore a year earlier.

Revenue from operations: Rs 520.26 crore, up 32 percent YoY

Interest income: Rs 470 crore, rising 23 percent YoY from Rs 381 crore

Marginal Deterioration in Asset Quality

While growth metrics remain strong, the company reported a slight uptick in NPAs:

Gross NPA (GNPA): 1.5 percent, up from 1.19 percent in Q4FY25

Net NPA: 1.12 percent, up from 0.89 percent in the previous quarter

The stake sale by WestBridge reflects a strategic portfolio move, while Aptus continues to demonstrate strong profitability and revenue growth. However, investors should monitor asset quality trends closely.
